Scholarship Essay Contest

Musical Surprise is currently accepting entries for a scholarship essay contest open to all area students.

The winning student will receive 6 months of FREE music lessons in any instrument provided at the studio. The contest is open to all local students even if they already take lessons at Musical Surprise.

If students need ideas of what programs are available at Musical Surprise, they can check out the Lessons & Classes page on the website.

To enter, students need to submit an essay of 500 words or less on what music means to them and how taking lessons would be beneficial to them. Students should include a phone number and email address with their essay submission.

Essays need to be submitted by Saturday, April 14th, 2012 and should be sent to scholarships@musicalsurprise.com.

Winner will be announced May 14th, 2012.

Musical Surprise Hosted Bring-A-Friend Week from February 27-March 3, 2012. The week was a great success with over 40 participants coming to the Music Studio to meet the the Staff and Teachers and participate in Classes and Private Lessons.

New Group Class Schedule Starting March 19, 2012!

It’s hard to believe it is almost Spring once again! We are excited to announce our New Class Schedule starting the week of March 19, 2012! We have added new classes to the schedule this semester to include Mini Musical, Percussion, Preschool, as well as, Adult Group Classes in Piano, Guitar, and Singing. The classes are separated by age level for Kids and Adults. As always we limit our class size to ensure optimum fun and learning potential for the student!

Musical Surprise Announces Winners!

The month of October has been a very busy month for Musical Surprise. We have attended 5-Fall Festivals this month and hosted Bring-A-Friend Week so everyone could see what all the excitement is about in learning to play music!

The Musical Surprise Team elected to give away an Acoustic Guitar, Class Kits, and Free Lessons to people who entered our drawings, and of course we had the usual stickers, bracelets, pens, and candy for anyone who came by to visit our booth or came to the facility.

Congratulations to the following Families and Individuals on winning the free prizes!!

Summer Rock Band Camp a Success!!!

"The Wild Things" Musical Surprise Rock Band Camp

It all started with an idea- What if we did a 1-week Summer Rock Band Camp and gave children of all ages the chance to rock? We put out the camp information and we were able to get 12 courageous students and 1 crazy teacher. Although most had never played an instrument before, within 5 days they learned a cool song and, most importantly, had FUN! Check out our awesome Rock Band Campers, ages 5-12 in a live performance of “I Wanna Be a Rock Star!” based on popular song by the Ramones- these kids ROCK!

We had a fantastic end of School Year Music Recital on May 14, 2011. The recital was in 7 concurrent sessions in one day lasting over 6 hours due to having so many students participating. We have attached a few pictures of the Recital for everyone to see how much fun it is for our young students to play for friends and family!
